NEW DEHLI: India says it is “outraged” over the release by Pakistan of Hafiz Saeed who ‘allegedly founded a banned group linked to the 2008 Mumbai attack’.
Pakistan put Saeed and four of his aides under house arrest in Lahore in January.
But he was released on Friday, days after a three-judge panel dismissed the government’s plea to continue with his house arrest, which officially ended on Thursday.
His aides were freed earlier.
The United States has designated Saeed a terrorist and has offered a 10 million US dollar bounty for him.
