ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday issued a contempt of court notice to former Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Malir, Rao Anwar for failing to appear before the court in extra judicial killing case of Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud, Aaj News reported.
As the session commenced Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar adjourned the proceeding for a brief moment so the former SSP could appear.
Anwar however, failed to appear after which the court issued contempt of court notice to the latter and order the State Bank of Pakistan to cease his assets.
“Anwar has missed a big opportunity to prove his innocence,” CJ said while nullifying Anwar’s protective bail. Justice Nisar further instructed the security agencies to curb the absconder in 15 days time frame.
A SC bench, headed by CJP Mian Saqib Nisar on 13th February granted protective bail to former SSP Malir Rao Anwar until Friday the 16th.
