KALININGRAD, Russia: An England supporters’ group says it has found a visa loophole that will allow fans without match tickets to travel to the World Cup in Russia.
The Russian government is issuing travel documents known as Fan IDs. They are mandatory to enter stadiums and double as entry visas. They include fans’ photos, passport data and other personal information.
Supporters have been told they have to enter a match ticket reference number to get a Fan ID. But England’s Football Supporters’ Federation has discovered that the same details can be submitted for multiple Fan IDs and can come from past games.
