Islamabad: Islamabad High Court has issued notice on Sharif’s plea against Avenfield case verdict and ordered to submit record of the case, Aaj News reported.
On Monday, division bench comprised of Justice Mian Gul Hussan and Aurangzaib heard the case on the request of Muslim League (N) leader Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (R) Safdar against Avenfied case verdict.
Court heard the plea of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (R) Safdar separately.
Muslim League (N) leader Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Pervaiz Rasheed and Barister Zafar Ullah were present in the court during hearing.
Counselor of Nawaz Sharif, Khuwaja Haris gave evidence about the court and at the beginning of the hearing he read the accountability court verdict.
Khuwaja Haris requested to shift to references to another court and said that Judge Mohammad Basheer had given verdict on one reference. Therefore, Haris asked to shift other two references.
The convicts had filed appeals for setting aside the accountability court’s verdict, suspending the verdict till adjudication of the appeals and granting them bail, and transferring the remaining Al-Azizia and Flagship references against Nawaz Sharif and his family members to another court.
The high court has issued notices to National Accountability Bureau in all the appeals. The next date of hearing will be determined on availability of the division bench.
