Islamabad: Supreme Court of Pakistan has declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leader, Fawad Choudhary ‘eligible’ to contest election.
On Tuesday, two-member bench, headed by Justice Azmat Saeed conducted hearing regarding application filed against permitting the nomination papers of Fawad Choudhry.
The plea was file by the Fawad’s competing candidate Syed Gohar Haider. After hearing the petition, the court allowed Fawad Choudhry to contest the election.
Justice Azmat Saeed said the applicant, ‘You were failed to file application at the time of summiting nomination papers, You should have challenged the verdict of rejecting appeal instead of filing new request.’
Fawad Chaudhary is contesting election from NA-67 Jhelum and his disqualification petitions have been rejected by Election Tribunal and Lahore High Court.
