ISLAMABAD: Ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd.) Safdar will challenge the Avenfield reference judgment in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday.
Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Harris has prepared appeals against the accountability court’s decision and all the three Sharif family members have signed the affidavits.
According to legal experts, Nawaz and Maryam may face difficulties in receiving any legal relief if they did not return to Pakistan in 10 days.
On July 6, the accountability court in Islamabad had awarded imprisonment to former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar for 10, 7 and 1 year respectively.— INP
