Web Desk: A Muslim woman, Farah Alhajeh, was rejected from a job for refusing to shake hand of male interviewer but then she has been awarded £3,000 (Rs. 4.6 lakh) in compensation.
During interview the Muslim woman told the interviewer that she could not shake his hand. She instead greeted him by placing a hand over her heart.
She claimed that she was told the interview was over and instructed to leave the office in Stockholm, Sweden. When she got into the lift she started crying and she was feeling awful.
Farah reported the company to Sweden’s discrimination ombudsman, who took her case to court. This week she won the case and was awarded 5.3 lakh in compensation.
