Web Desk: Pakistani well-known actress and Goodwill Ambassador United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Mahira Khan said that most of the Afghan refugees in Pakistan are children, so she is interested to help them personally.
Mahira visited Afghan refugees camp at Azab Khel and Nowshera to met the refugees. She was also accompanied by UN High Commissioner for Afghan Refugees Filipo Grandi and other UNHCR representatives.
While talking to media, the Bol actress said, “I am very happy to have visited Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for the first time and met the Afghan refugees. I have seen a vast number of children in the camps and I personally wanted to help them and educate them for their bright future.”
UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi also shared that they are very thankful to Pakistan to host a large number of refugees since long time.
“Afghan refugees need more help and facilities in the field of education, health and other sectors. Afghan refugees repatriation is continuing and other countries should focus more to resolve their issue,” he added.
Moreover, he praised Imran khan for taking interest in Afghan refugees’ issues.
