Polling for By-elections on thirty five constituencies of National and Provincial Assemblies has begun across the country.
The number of candidates for the election to be held on eleven national Assembly and twenty four provincial Assemblies’ seats, are 370.
Overseas Pakistanis will also vote for the first time in the by-polls whereas the Election Commission has established a control room for guidance of Overseas Pakistanis.
Over seven thousand and four hundred polling stations have been set up for the by polls. Of these, 1727 have been categorized as highly sensitive.
The Election Commission (EC) has also directed media channels not to broadcast results of the by-elections before 6 p.m.
The by-elections are being held on the national and provincial assembly seats which became vacant due to the resignation or death of contesting candidates.
