Karachi: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has released Nimr Majeed, son of Omni Group of Companies’ owner Anwar Majeed, reported Aaj News.
Director of Omni group, Nimr Majeed was arrested yesterday from Karachi’s Supreme Court Registry.
According to FIA, Nimr Majeed was arrested only for inquiry, is now released on judicial orders.
Yesterday, Nimr was arrested in a case related to missing sugar that worth Rs 12 billion.
During the hearing of Money Laundering case in the Supreme Court Registry on the previous day, the Chief Justice dismissed the proposal of Anwar Mujahid for providing B class.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar, expressed his displeasure at the police and FIA for allowing the sugar to go missing.
The court adjourned the hearing, demanded complete record of the Omni Group’s till October 30.
