KARACHI: Former senator Faisal Raza Abidi has been arrested outside the premises of Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Wednesday, Aaj News reported.
According to reports, Abidi was arrested by the secretariat police right after he appeared for the hearing of a contempt case. The apex court summoned former senator over his anti-judiciary remarks on a private television channel.
During the hearing, Abidi requested the court to adjourn the case till his lawyer returned from Umrah or grant him time to hire a new counsel. SC approved Abidi’s request and adjourned the hearing till October 30.
