Web Desk: People have different productivity levels throughout the day. Scientists have a smart phone tool to tell you most active time by analyzing how tired your eyes look.
Researchers at Cornell University have developed a smart phone app called Alertness Scanner, which they believe can pinpoint the exact times in the day you’re working your hardest.
The app works by taking many photos from the front camera every time you unlock your phone. It then uses these to measure the size of your pupils, gauging from that just how attentive you are at the moment.
It can be very useful to manage and schedule our day says a doctoral student at Cornell. According to the researchers, the tool can be applied to a variety of devices and professions, not just office workers. For instance, a similar device with a camera installed on a surgeon’s magnification display can ensure he or she is alert enough to perform the intricate surgery in front of them. It can be placed on a driver’s rearview mirror as a warning system to let them know if they’re falling asleep at the wheel.
