LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of a high treason case against former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi till October 22.
The case was heard by a three member bench headed by Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, comprising of Justice Atir Mahmood and Justice Chaudhry Masood Jahangir.
Security was beefed up out side the LHC prior to both former premiers appearance. Large number of PML-N workers and supporters were also presented out side the court. Upon the arrival of ex-PM’s chanted slogans.
Sharif, had also been absent from previous hearings as he had been receiving condolences over the death of his wife.
Sharif, Abbasi and Almeida’s attendance was noted and all three respondents were ordered to submit written replies to the court and appear before the bench on Oct 22.
The petition, filed by Advocate Azhar Siddiqui, alleges that Abbasi shared confidential details of the National Security Council (NSC) meeting with Nawaz following his controversial statements on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
