ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government wants a sustainable solution to poverty reduction by creating employment opportunities and bringing reforms in various sectors. He was chairing a meeting on poverty reduction and related reforms in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said the local government system needs to be utilized at the grassroots level to reduce poverty, so that needy people are promptly reached and resources are not wasted.
The Prime Minister said immediate steps are needed to be taken to resolve the issue of stunted growth which deprives our children of equal development opportunities.
Imran Khan directed to create harmony among health, education, food, environment and other sectors in order to find a solution to this issue of serious magnitude. The meeting was briefed on steps relating to poverty reduction and reforms in this regard.
The Prime Minister was also given a detailed briefing on promotion of technical education, increase in employment opportunities, access to financial assistance, inexpensive accommodation, social protection and Sehat Insaf Card.
