RAWALPINDI: Police on Saturday registered a murder case of religious scholar and former senator Maulana Samiul Haq, against unknown persons.
The case was registered under complainant Maulana Hamidul Haq, son of the deceased Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (Sami) chief, at the Airport Police Station in Rawalpindi.
Hamidul Haq said his family didn’t wish to have post-mortem of his father conducted.
According to the FIR, Maulana Sami was stabbed 12 times before he lost his life at his Rawalpindi residence. The attack took place at around 6.30pm on Nov 2.—NNI
