Web Desk: It is true that eyes speak! It is also quoted that mental health issues have no face, it cannot be seen but only felt.
A recent study found that the widening of the pupils of the eyes can indicate the levels of stress a person encounters in an environment where he or she multitasks.
The researchers at the University of Missouri-Columbia discovered that a person’s eyes can help assess a person’s state-of-mind, thereby allowing for a better solution to better deal with the pressure of a task at hand.
“If your vitals are bad, then something is wrong with your body and doctors will work to figure out what’s wrong with you,” said Jung Hyup Kim, a researcher, as reported by ANI News.
“What about your mental health? Many people multitask, but currently, there is no measurement for someone’s mental well-being. However, we found that the size of a pupil could be the key to measuring someone’s mental state while they multitask.”
The eyes behave more erratically, when we confronted with a complex task and we face unexpected change.
One day this finding could give employers and educators alike a tool to determine the maximum stress level a person can experience before they become fatigued, and their performance begins to negatively change,” the study said.
