PESHAWAR: Peshawar police launched a “Hotel Eye” Software on its mobile App system so as to keep close vigil and scrutinize data of visitors who used to came to stay in hotels.
The new initiative is proving a milestone in curbing the suspects and wanted persons, says a police statement here on Monday.
A total of 232 hotels have so far been registered in the software. The record of those visiting hotels is entered in this system daily basis. Under this system the bio-data of 67,646 persons have been registered and after thorough scrutiny of the record, 61 were declared suspects who were formally taken into police custody for further interrogation.
A few months ago, Peshawar police had launched “Peshawar Mobile App” for public facilitation to ensure prompt access to the police in any emergency situation. The basic idea behind this system was to provide help in public service delivery to the general public by using this technology.
The launching of “Hotel Eye” software is achieving tremendous response as on the one hand economic and business activities have further boosted and on the other hand the terrorists and outlaws will not be able to use these hotels as a launching pad for fulfilling their nefarious designs.
Moreover, the police have also received a total of 4,993 reports on Mobile App in which 4,939 have been resolved via prompt police action in well professional manner.
Like “Hotel Eye” initiative more such ideas would be introduced in near future for public facilitation and “best smart policing” in the province.—APP
