ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has replied to the letter sent to him by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
As per detail garnered Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday, has replied to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s letter regarding to the nomination of members of Election Commission.
The letter is consisted of seven pages.
In his letter Shehbaz Sharif recommended three members each from Sindh and Balochistan for appointment as members of Election Commission (ECP).
It is clarified in the constitution that Prime Minister will send three names after consultation with opposition leader in the national assembly, the letter said.
The letter also added that Article 254 of the constitution does not accept any delay in the consultation process and that why was the consultation process not started before the retirement of the members of the Election Commission. Members of Election Commission from Sindh and Blochistan was retired on 26th of January, 2019, the letter said.
