Karachi Kings President Wasim Akram has expressed surprise at reactions on a video clip, which went viral on social media, where he was seen “lashing out” at the team captain Babar Azam during a match against Multan Sultans in HBL Pakistan Super League 7 in Lahore.

It was the last over of the match against the defending PSL champions when Akram was seen apparently arguing with Azam. At that time, Sultans needed seven runs from five balls. Kings were defending 175 runs and the win could have secured the former PSL champions first victory in the current edition of the Twenty20 league.

The moment had caught people's attention on social media.

“Hello ! Surprised to see reactions on my talking to Babar at the boundary last night. What I was saying was ‘why our bowlers are not bowling yorkers or slower ones offside off’.nothing else,” Akram said in a tweet.

The legendary fast bowler also hailed the national cricket team captain and lauded him for his effort. He also asked, “what he [Babar] wants for dinner.”

The apparent clarification also drew various responses from Azam fans and cricket aficionados.

One of the users said the legendary fast bowler did not need to give any clarification.

Another user said that people have much time to debate on such things.

Amid this, former cricketer Rashid Latif extended his support to Azam.
