LARKANA: Dysfunctional solar system and prolonged unscheduled electricity load shedding has forced the girl students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Larkana, to come out from their annual examination halls to take a sigh due to sizzling hot weather.

Annual examinations of Classes VI, VII and VIII have commenced from Monday across Sindh and the un-announced power load shedding from 9am to 2pm has forced the students and the general public to remain home and worst affected are the male and female students who have to appear in the annual examinations or else they will lose their precious year.

School Principal Mumtaz Solangi told newsmen that she has approached Sepco authorities several times before to spare schools from the massive outages preferably during examinations and study timings and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply but they have no mercy on anyone except to save their skins. She said the solar system installed in the school has also become dysfunctional due to which the worst affected are the female students of her school who come out of their examination halls frequently to take a sigh of fresh air which too is not blowing during the said timings.

She demanded of the relevant higher authorities load-shedding-free electricity supply to all the educational institutions so that studies of the students should not suffer at any cost.
