Tarin decides to tender resignation

ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin has ultimately decided to resign from his office at the end of this month, Aaj News reported on Tuesday.

According to the channel, the minister has apprised the Prime Minister pertaining to his decision. He wanted to supervise the management of his own bank, it added.

The channel quoted diplomatic and government sources as saying that Shaukat Tarin had already tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister.

According to the sources, the Prime Minister has proposed Dr Hafiz Pasha and Dr Ishrat Hussain for finance minister. The name of Naseem Begum, who enjoys support of the presidency, is also being considered now.
