Pak to resume dialogue without any pressure: Qureshi
Sunday, 7 Feb, 2010 12:40 pm
ISLAMABAD : Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan wanted dialogue process with India with positive approach, Aaj News reported.

In an interview with Aaj TV channel on Sunday, Qureshi said the dialogue process should be started with positive approach as the statements of a particular group could damage the composite dialogue. He promised the nation that Pakistan will resume dialogue with India without any pressure.

“Statements and media can’t resolve the problems between Pakistan and India”, he said.

He said that problems can be resolved through formal dialogue that is why his government was demanding to resume bilateral talks between Pakistan and India. He said internal pressure is mounting on the Indian government to change its attitude and resume dialogue with Pakistan.

He said Indian offer of talks reflects Pakistan’s stance as we are ready to resume dialogue with India with positive approach.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan has been playing very significant role to eliminate terrorism and it suffered badly in the war against terrorism. He said world is recognizing Pakistani stance and the sacrifices.

Qureshi said that neither he, nor the people of Pakistan have any knowledge about secret diplomacy over Kashmir in the era of former President Pervez Musharraf as there is no record of the same in foreign office.

Meanwhile, in a brief talk with the newsmen at Seetal Mari area in suburbs of Multan after addressing a public meeting and inaugurating Rs 95 million worth of development schemes, Qureshi said all issues would be discussed during the dialogue process with India.
