PESHAWAR: Directorate of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tuesday marked October 27 as black day as on this day in 1947 the Indian troops entered Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in sheer violation of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiris.
An event was organized at Nishtar Hall here Parliamentary Secretary for Culture Zahid Durrani was the chief guest. Scholars, journalists and civil society members were also present.
Speaking on the occasion Salim Afaqi, Shah Mehmood Ghaznavi, Dr. Adnan, Sarwar Khan, Dr. Doast Muhammad Khan, Saeed Butt, Mushtaq Shabab and others highlighted the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir and said that India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the will of Kashmiris besides denying their inalienable right to self determination.
They said that on October 27 in 1947 the Indian troops entered Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it illegally therefore the day is marked as black day across the world by Kashmiris and rallies are carried out in the world capitals.
