PSL was set in motion on Thursday, 4th of February.
As we know T20 cricket is game of thrill, spirit, youth and game of thrones. Player from all around the world are entertaining cricket lovers with their hard and quick hitting in the cricket T20 format. Now it’s PSL’s time to rock the world and I am going to support Quetta Gladiators, while you may opt for your choice.
An interesting fact about Quetta Gladiators is that they have representation from all the provinces of Pakistan. No other team has this privilege. This fact would attract the fan following every nook and corner of Pakistan.
Quetta Gladiators are highly dependent on young blood. They did not go for the big names like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Misbha ul Haq. This team is led by young Sarfaraz Ahmed. Although, Quetta Gladiators is the cheapest team of the tournament and is considered as the underdogs of the tournament due to many facts. However, Quetta Gladiators, in my opinion, have a balanced selection of players, a good combination of bowlers, batsmen and all-rounders.
The team of Quetta Gladiators is not only packed with young fellows but has a surprise package in the form of the icon players like Kevin Pietersen and Kumar Sangakara.
Quetta Gladiators were bought by Omer Associates for $1.1 million (USD). Nadeem Omer, owner of Omer Associates, is widely known for his love and support for cricket. His contribution has always been appreciable.
Quetta Gladiators have appointed their coaching staff which includes former Pakistan wicket-keeper Moin Khan, as the head coach, while Ian Pont and Julien Fountain appointed as assistant coach and fielding coach respectively.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is leading Quetta Gladiators. He has experience of serving as a vice captain of Pakistan ODI and T20 team and captaincy for Karachi Dolphins.
According to the rules of PSL, every team has selected 16 players, two or three additional players for supplementary category, while Quetta Gladiator have selected 19 players.
The pick from iconic players is Kevin Pietersen.
