Web Desk: Doctors pull out 14 worms from an eye of a woman in Oregon. Initially, she began to feel something like a hair in her eyes, after a week she pulled a small worm out of it.
Then she visited a doctor who pulled out two more worms, followed by an optometrist finding three more worms from her eye. Within 20day, 14 worms were removed from the surface of her eye.
According to a doctor, while they cause irritation there isn’t threat of permanent damage since the worms just crawl on eyes and under the eyelid feeding on tears.
She has become the first human who is infected by the type of eye worm.
The worms are transmitted through face flies which carry their larvae in the mouth.
