LAHORE: Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that the present government is working with good intention to pull the country out of economic problems and the traders’ community should fully cooperate with the government in this regard.
He expressed these views while talking to a 40-member delegation of traders which under leadership of Central President Muhammad Ali Mian and President Lahore Nasir Hameed Khan called on him at Governor’s House Lahore on Wednesday.
The delegation comprised Shabbir Sial, Ansar Zaheer Butt, Humayun Iqbal, Zubair Ahmad, Muhammad Arshad, Syed Majid Bokhari, Irfan Iqbal, Zubair Ahmad Ansari, Khuwaja Khawar Rashid and Javaid Butt among others.
After hearing the problems of the traders’ community from the delegation, Parvez Elahi said that traders are backbone of the economy of the country, should form a committee for solution of their problems which should elaborate its manifesto under a comprehensive plan, I will get your problems solved in Punjab on priority basis.
He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide maximum opportunities to the traders’ community for doing business. He said as the Chief Minister Punjab I had provide best facilities to the traders because of this the Punjab was self-reliant then.
Thanking the Acting Governor for giving time, hearing their problems and assurance to get them resolved, Muhammad Ali Mian and Nasir Hameed Khan that the government should provide business facilities to the traders community, in the tax reforms for solution of problems faced by traders community there should be only single page form, by raiding the traders the government is creating panic and harassment among the traders. —INP
