Shehbaz Sharif files defamatory case against Daily Mail in London court

LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and leader of the opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif filed a case against UK newspaper Daily Mail and its reporter David Rose for publishing a “fabricated and defamatory” report against him in July, 2019.

Addressibg a news conference in London Shehbaz Sharif said that the story published in Daily Mail against him was fabricated and defamatory. It was the part of propaganda that PM Imran Khan Niazi launched against PML-N in the name of accountability, he added.

Refuting the allegation made in the Daily Mail report, he said, “If there was a shred of evidence against him of siphoning off millions of ponds the unholy alliance of NAB and PM Imran would not have filed baseless references against him in Pakistan.”
