Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed timely completion of different ongoing power projects across the country.

Chairing a meeting on energy in Islamabad on Saturday, he said he would personally monitor progress of the projects on fortnightly basis.

Nawaz Sharif noted significant addition of power to the national grid with the completion of ongoing projects will eliminate load shedding for all times to come in the country.

He said increased power generation would also contribute towards economic growth through enhanced industrial activity.

The federal secretary water and power apprised the meeting that the current year remained most stable as well as the best period for generation of power when compared with the last ten years.

The Prime Minister was briefed about the timeline of different power projects to be completed between mid of 2017 and March 2018.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, Khawaja Asif, Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif and other senior officials. -Radio Pakistan
