Rubina Ashraf is fine and doing well, shares daughter


Veteran actor Rubina Ashraf had tested positive for COVID-19 a week earlier and was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to deteriorating health. The 60-years-old actor is admitted to a private hospital while she battles the novel coronavirus.

However, the actor's daughter Minna Tariq has shared that Rubina is doing better and is recovering gradually. She took to Instagram to share details of her mother's health.

“I request everyone to please avoid spreading misinformation about my mother Rubina Ashraf, she is fine and recovering. Please pray for her speedy recovery,” Minna wrote on her Instagram Story.

Rubina's peers and colleagues in the industry and fans had been praying for her swift recovery ever since the news of her illness came out. Actor Hamayun Saeed took to Twitter to request his followers to pray for Ashraf’s health.

"Please pray for Rubina Ashraf. May Allah grants her good health and quick recovery," Saeed wrote.

Janan actor Ali Rehman Khan also sent out a request for prayers for the legendary actor. In a tweet he wrote:

"Please pray for #RubinaAshraf as she battles #COVID19. May Allah give her a speedy recovery."

Lal Kabootar famed Mansha Pasha also wished for Rubina's quick recovery:

"Sending a prayer to Rubina Ashraf jee! Hoping and praying she gets well soon!"

Among others to send wishes for Rubina are Mahira Khan, Simi Raheel, Ejaz Aslam, Sana Javed, and Shagufta Ejaz.

Rubina decided to get tested for COVID-19 last week after she started showing symptoms.

COVID-19 is a disease caused by the novel coronavirus and is contagious. World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a global pandemic after the virus - which originally originated in Wuhan, China - spread across Europe and Asia. There are currently 6.8 million affectees of COVID-19 globally.
