Federal Ministry of Health has launched a helpline for healthcare providers in collaboration with Aga Khan University. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Health Services, Dr. Zafar Mirza announced this in a press conference today.

 

Dr. Mirza said:

"The welfare of frontline health workers against COVID-19 is the top priority of the government."

Addressing the media in Islamabad on Friday, PM's aide said that the government has established an integrated complaint management system to address complaints of the frontline health workers.

The front line healthcare providers can register their complaints at 1166 or WhatsApp number 00923001111166.

Their complaints will be addressed on a priority basis and the complainant would also be informed about the status of their complaint.

He further said that partnering with AKU will further improve health facilities. The agreement would also train health workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other medical personnel across the country. The University would provide training to 10,000 health workers in Sindh in the next few weeks. The medical staff caring for the COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital will be provided with the facility of tele-consultancy.

He said a comprehensive package “The Care System” has already been announced for the health workers fighting against coronavirus pandemic. Under this package 50,000 health workers would be provided training.
