Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and head of Israeli spy agency Mossad Yossi Cohen flew to Saudi Arabia on Sunday for a clandestine meeting with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also present during the meeting, reported Hebrew- media on Monday while citing an Israeli official.

According to the details, the Israeli Premier Netanyahu flew to Neom, a Red Sea city, in a rare direct flight from Israel to Saudi Arabia while Mohammad Bin Salman and Mike Pompeo were already present in the city. Netanyahu stayed in Neom for five hours and then flew back to Israel, revealed Avi Scharf, the editor of Haaretz English edition in a tweet.

"ABSOLUTELY rare Israeli flight direct to new Saudi mega-city Neom on Red Seashore. It was Bibi's ex-fav bizjet t7-cpx. Back to Tel Aviv after 5 hours on the ground."

Israeli premier traveled to Saudi Arabia on the private plane of businessman Ehud Angel. The same plane was used by Netanyahu when he made a secret visit to Oman last year. The meeting between the Saudi leader and Israeli PM was kept a secret even from the Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi. Netanyahu was to hold a meeting with his cabinet member to evaluate the COVID-19 response, however, he pushed the meeting to Monday and instead flew to Saudi Arabia, revealed The Times of Israel.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took to Twitter to call his visit constructive, however, omitted any details about the presence of Netanyahu in the meeting.

"Constructive visit with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in NEOM today. The United States and Saudi Arabia have come a long way since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and King Abdul Aziz Al Saud first laid the foundation for our ties 75 years ago."
