  • Pakistan is approaching towards the grim milestone of 10,000 Covid deaths.

New Coronavirus cases have started to decline in Pakistan in the past few days. The reason for the reduction in the number of daily cases can be either reduced testing or a decreased rate of spread of the viral disease in the areas where samples have been taken.

Health officials believe that both of these factors have combined to produce a lower number of cases in recent days. For some reason, the country has reduced its testing in the last few days. But it's not the only reason behind the reduced tally as the positivity rate has also dwindled to 5-6% substantiating the claim that the viral spread is fairly in check in the country. Previously, it remained 7-8% in the last couple of months.

As of today, Pakistan's latest Covid-19 statistics provided by the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) are as follows:

CONFIRMED CASES: 475,085     (Last 24 hours: 1,776)

TOTAL TESTS: 6,619,983   (Last 24 hours: 30,666)
