RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar said Pakistan exposed Indian propaganda and no organised terrorist infrastructure exists in Pakistan today as the country fought successfully against the internal and external security challenges.

Addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi this evening, he said, banned “organisations were being facilitated on the western border”; yet, despite these challenges, the state, institutions, the armed forces and intelligence agencies and most importantly the Pakistani people faced these challenges with a united front.

He said the last 10 years were a challenging time in every aspect for Pakistan, and that in 2020 alone the coronavirus pandemic and locust attack put the country’s food security and economy in danger.

He said that along with restoring peace in the tribal districts along the western border, socio-economic projects were also launched.

He said that whether it was India’s designs or hybrid warfare or the internal and external challenges, the authorities “not only showed and identified [them] but also combatted them successfully. The world is recognising it too because the truth always prevails”.

The spokesperson said that India is involved in promoting anti-Pakistan agenda in six domains, which include abetting terrorism, targeting economy, using diplomacy, fomenting chaos, Kashmir and social issues.

He said EU DisinfoLab has New Delhi's planned propaganda against Pakistan on the behest of the State of India. He said Indian aggression in Kashmir was cleverly kept in hiding from the international watch, while an unfounded propaganda was unleashed in favour of revocation of Article 370. He said EU parliamentarians were invited to visit the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in personal capacity, but they were portrayed as EU representatives.

Regarding social issues, Babar Iftikhar said false propaganda was launched through EU Chronicles on minorities and women issues. Anti Pakistan resolutions were moved in the European Parliaments to tarnish Pakistan's image in all these areas.

He said EU DisinfoLab report view this anti-Pakistan campaign at number six on the scale of one to six, which is the highest level of disinformation spread by India. He said findings of the report serve as a call to actions for decision makers to put in place relevant frameworks to sanction actors and governments abusing international institutions, influencing decision makers and misleading the world opinion.
