COVID-19: Pakistan reports 110 deaths, 5,364 new cases in 24 hours

Pakistan on Friday has reported 5,364 new cases and 110 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours as the country struggles with the third wave of coronavirus.

According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 64,481 coronavirus tests were taken, 5,364 came out positive, and 110 deaths were reported countrywide in the last 24 hours.

There are currently 4,302 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted at different hospitals in the country. And the reported positivity rate is 8.31%.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 78,425. Pakistan has so far recorded 745,182 confirmed cases, 15,982 deaths, and a total of 650,775 recoveries from the novel disease.

Most active cases are reported in Punjab (42,037) followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (13,303), and Islamabad (12,817). There are currently 7,034, 2,227, 898, and 109 active cases in Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan respectively.
