In the last 24 hours, 8.54% of the total COVID-19 tests conducted across the country returned positive. The last time a lower positivity rate was reported on 20th April when 8% of the sampled individuals tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection.

As per the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the coronavirus situation of Pakistan in the past 24 hours remained as follows:

Total Tests Conducted: 48,103
Positive Cases: 4,109
Positivity Rate: 8.54%
Deaths: 120

A dip in the positivity rate indicates that lockdown restrictions are proving to be containing the spread of the novel virus in the country. As of today, total cases have reached 854,240 while at least 18,797 people have been reported to die of Covid-related reasons.

It must be noted that for the past few days daily testing has gone down in the country. Possibly owing to the fact that the government has been utilizing its maximum resources on increasing the daily coronavirus vaccinations. Resultantly, daily vaccinations have exceeded 170,000 and increasing day by day.
