COVID-19: Pakistan reports 74 deaths, 3,232 new cases in last 24 hours

Pakistan on Monday has reported 3,232 new cases and 74 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours as the country struggles with the third wave of coronavirus.

According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 36,725 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which 3,232 came out positive.

There are currently 4,443 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted at different hospitals in the country. And the reported positivity rate is 8.80%.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 68,223. Pakistan has so far recorded 880,362 confirmed cases, 19,617 deaths, and a total of 792,522 recoveries from the novel disease.

Most active cases are reported in Punjab (30,575) followed by Sindh (18,317), and Islamabad (8,490). There are currently 7824, 1,823, 1,098, and 96 active cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan respectively.
