The actor Hania Amir, on Sunday, penned a note on her Instagram page after she was subjected to harsh criticism over a video that went viral Saturday. In her note, she eloquently pointed out the sheer hypocrisy prevalent in the "misogynistic world" and "double standards" when it comes to women.

The Jannan famed Hania took to Instagram and posted a video clip where she seems distressed and her sister is trying to cheer her up. The video was posted along a caption:

"Just another day surviving in a misogynist world where double standards have power over innocence and where coexisting with a difference of opinion is not a thing. Where a man trying to belittle a woman is applauded but if a woman does the same she is hated," Titli actor wrote.

She continued: "Where a woman showing affection to her loved ones is wrong but a man ejaculating on a woman’s picture on video on the internet is retweeted and made viral content. Just another day surviving."

The Mujhay Jeenay Do actor was referring to the much-talked-about video of her with Ashir Wajahat, son of renowned director Wajahat Rauf which received immense criticism for the 'indecent' nature of it. And also to the video of a man ejaculating on her picture that also went viral but did not attract much criticism except maybe one or two tweets.

Hania finished her caption by saying that she hopes everyone is "doing well in this disgusting world and keeping goodness intact."

"Someone else’s evil shouldn’t ruin your goodness," she said.

While a video of friends having fun and a friendly banter attracted so much hatred towards the young actor, an utterly despicable video and perpetrator seemed to go unnoticed from the eyes of social media users.

What made the matter worse is that her rumored ex Asim Azhar, instead of defending her, apparently took a dig at her.

This horrifying episode, if anything, is a reminder that the focus of our collective outrage is always going to be young women claiming their agencies and making their free choices. let it be Malala, Meher Bano, or Hania Amir.
