The film "Into Dust", based on the brutal murder of social activist Parveen Rehman, who risked his life for the development of lower class people, was released on Amazon Prime on August 24.

The film, directed by Oscar-winning short film director Orlando Van In Saddle, highlights the brave struggles of Rahman who had devoted her life towards the development of impoverished neighbourhoods across the country before being assassinated.

The architect turned social activist was the head of the Orangi Pilot Project-Research and Training Institute (OPP-RTI).

The film focuses particularly on Rahman’s fight for the water rights of underserved communities in Karachi.

The film prominently features the roles of Rahman, played by Indu Sharma, and her sister Aquila Ismail, played by Sudha Bhuchar, amongst others.

The role of Anwar Rashid is played by Danish Hussain.

Aqeela Ismail, the elder sister of the slain Parveen Rehman (who is also the executive producer of the film), says that there is nothing in the film that is against the country.

Giving final arguments in the anti-terrorism court on Wednesday, Parveen Rehman's sister's lawyer said that Abdul Rehman Swati, with the help of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban, planned to assassinate a prominent social worker on a disputed piece of land in Peerabad.

Abdul Rahim Swati, who is allegedly a land grabber, is one of the five people involved in the murder of Parveen Rehman. Parveen Rehman was killed in 2013 in Orangi Town.

The judges will hear the final arguments from the accused's lawyers in a September 6 hearing.
