The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Wednesday sought explanation from the party's chief whip in the National Assembly Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar over his comments on Inter- Services Intelligence Director General Lt General Faiz Hameed in an interview to Samaa, according to a Geo report.

Dogar claimed Tuesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted Lt Gen Faiz Hameed to continue in that role due to the situation in Afghanistan.

“The prime minister wanted Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed to serve for a few more months,” Dogar, who is Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, said during the interview.

According to the report, the PTI said Dogar's comments in the interview created wrong perception politically.
