Police say they have arrested two men suspected of raping a woman in their vehicle in Gojra as well as recovering the car, according to media reports on Thursday.
Two men and a woman are said to have lured an 18-year-old girl to Gojra on the pretext of a job and raped her in a vehicle.
The girl's aunt filed a report with the police on October 11 saying her niece was meant to meet a woman regarding a job and when she showed up at the location, she got into a car and was then raped by two men. She was later "thrown" at the Faisalabad interchange according to the report by Geo.
A female medical officer at Gojra THQ hospital has confirmed the rape of the girl in her report.
Police say they arrested two men in connection to the rape.
In his first statement, the prime suspect said that the woman had befriended him over mobile phone 15 days ago, saying she left for Faisalabad with a friend on his orders.
The Gojra DSP told Geo that geo-forensics confirmed mobile phone contact between the prime suspect and woman for 15 days prior to the rape. They also found her pictures on his phone.
The DSP added they have not been able to get in touch with her for her statement despite repeated attempts.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has asked for a report of the case.
