The PM's adviser has refuted MNA Riaz Fatyana’s claim.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Thursday said he would submit an application in the disciplinary committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf against a member national assembly (MNA) of the ruling party who claimed that Aslam got into a brawl with Minister for State on Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir at the recently help UN conference on climate change in Glasgow.

Aslam's son shared a series of video messages on Twitter in which the prime minister's adviser refuted MNA Riaz Fatyana’s claim made in a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Mian Aslam, who was in conversation with reporter, said that the lawmaker would face disciplinary proceedings by the party.

In a meeting of the PAC, members examined audit reports of the Ministry of Climate Change for the year 2019-20 under the chairmanship of Rana Tanveer Hussain, reported Dawn.

According to the report, Fatyana claimed Gul had a brawl with the prime minister’s adviser during the UN conference on climate change and she returned to the country in the middle of the event.

He also accused the officials of the ministry of incompetence, saying the representation of Pakistan in the conference was not up to the mark.

Quoting Fatyana, the report said: "No Pakistani official received the delegates from Nepal and other countries in the camp."

However, Aslam in the video interview outrightly rejected Fatyana's claim, saying no such incident had occured during the event and Gul returned to the country as she was supposed to attend the joint session of parliament.

The prime minister's adviser claimed Fatyana was spreading disinformation as he came to attend the same conference with an NGO and demanded official protocol from the officials of the ministry.

"Fatyana harassed the officials after they declined to give him a car which was meant for the official delegation only," said Aslam.
