The polling time for by-election to NA-133 seat in Lahore has ended at 5pm.

The seat fell vacant after the death of PTI's Pervez Malik.

The polling process at 254 polling stations continued till 5pm without any pause. According to Aaj News, as many as 440,485 voters would exercise their right to vote. However, low voter turnout was seen at the polling station.

A strong contest is expected between PML-N's Shaista Malik and PPP's Aslam Gill.

In a statement, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif urged voters to turn up in big numbers for "changing their fate". Shehbaz directed the party leaders and workers to help the voters at polling stations.

"The people should fully participate in the by-election of NA-133 Lahore. People should use their voting power to stop inflation, economic ruin and unemployment. They should not be deceived by words, claims and slogans, vote for performance," he was quoted as saying in a statement shared by the PML-N on Twitter.

Similarly, the PPP also did their election campaign on social media and urged voters to exercise their right to vote.
