Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif has said that the no-confidence motion was the 'constitutional right' of the opposition.

Talking to media outside the Lahore Accountability Court, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly said that no one can stop them from using this ‘constitutional right’, adding that every Pakistani desired no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

PML-N president said that the people were suffering due to increasing inflation in the country and that the poverty has elevated in the tenure of PTI-led government.

Shehbaz said that 'NAB-Niazi' nexus has caused damage to the economy of the country.

The PML-N president said that NAB arrested innocent people, adding that he was alleged of committing corruption of billions of rupees in Saaf Paani project.

Shehbaz said the court decision regarding Saaf Pani project is our victory, claiming that he had saved nation’s money. "I am facing the case trial for three and a half years."

Shahbaz said that all these have turned against me but whatever they want, "they cannot prove any corruption against me, even if they go to the grave."

Shahbaz attended NAB hearing

Earlier in the day Shahbaz Sharif attended proceedings of the corruption references before different accountability courts.

The court heard arguments of Hamza Shahbaz’s counsel on his acquittal application.

During the hearing, statements of NAB witnesses Salman Saeed, Rizwan Saeed, Kashif Ali and Kashif Islam were recorded.

The court summoned the NAB witnesses for cross-examination at the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till March 4.

During the hearing, Shehbaz also hailed the court’s decision in the Punjab Saaf Pani reference wherein a PML-N former MPA and others were acquitted of the corruption charges.

As per the reference details, the NAB had accused Shehbaz Sharif of misusing his authority, resulting in the failure of the project, depriving 61,000 applicants of housing units and alleged that Shehbaz caused a huge loss to national exchequer by awarding the contract of the housing scheme to a company without bidding.
