Twitter is abuzz with comments on the Prime Minister’s choice of shoes to the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday. The premier’s traditional Peshawari sandals were mistaken for Crocs by many social media users, which has Pakistanis laughing-out-loud.

People noticed the Prime Minister's shoes after President of Russia's Twitter posted a picture of the two shaking hands after the meeting.

“I’ve been laughing at this for 10 minutes,” said Twitter user Maham Nasir sharing a screenshot of a tweet by a Paul Kennis that says, “And he wore crocs to the meeting! Boss move.”

One person confused the Peshawari sandals with Yeezy’s, which are a fashion collaboration between Adidas and American rapper Kanye West.

“Are those unreleased leather Yeezy’s?” asked the user.

This person revived the “What Are Those” trend, which is a series of parody and remix videos based on a short clip of a man who asks a police officer about his work boots in a startled manner.

Some users were thoroughly impressed by the Prime Minister’s styling.

There’s an increased demand of the Peshawari sandals on Twitter.

And some people are availing this opportunity to the fullest.

Since taking office, the prime minister is mostly seen in different shalwar kameez that he pairs with waistcoats. For shoes, he loves wearing the Peshawari sandals. High-end designer Christian Louboutin also once redesigned the Peshawari sandals and called them Imran Sandals. It comes as no surprise that he decided to wear them to the meeting with Putin as well.

The PM was in Moscow on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Russia and had a three hour long meeting with Putin.
