Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the names of the members of the federal cabinet have been finalised after consultations with allied parties, with the names and portfolios to be announced later today (Monday).

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, Marriyum also spoke at length about the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, while claiming that Imran Khan wants to file a reference against the chief election commissioner - on the pretext of delay in delimitation - as a pre-emptive measure to avoid conviction in the foreign funding case.

As per sources, PM Shehbaz Sharif is expected to unveil his 36-member federal cabinet today. The breakdown of portfolios, as per soures, is that PML-N will have 14 ministries, PPP will have 11, JUI-F will get 4 portfolios, while the remaining seven will go to other allies.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to become foreign minister while Sherry Rehman is expected to get the climate change ministry, as per sources. Naveed Qamar will take charge of the commerce ministry and veteran politician Khursheed Shah will be the water and power minister, sources add.

Foreign funding case

Speaking about the foreign funding, the PML-N leader said that the party's foreign funding was exposed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) during the PTI's tenure.

She said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would hear the foreign funding case against the PTI on daily basis and the verdict would be announced within 30 days.

"Imran Khan's theft is now out in the open. He concealed details of 16 accounts," he said, while claiming that there was evidence of the same.

Over 20 million rupees meant to fund the party were transferred to personal accounts, she continued.

Social media trends

She claimed that social media accounts linked to PTI workers were being used to run "fabricated, fake trends" against the army, courts and other state institutions.

"Imran Khan is leading the country towards anarchy," she underscored.

In particular, she said the trend pretaining to "imported government" was an attempt to discredit the PML-N government and the PDM leadership.

"It was the PTI-led government that had 'imported' ministers and advisors. Now these imported advisors and ministers are seeking removal of their names from the stop list to leave the country," the PML-N spokesperson added.
