Former Prime Minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said that the people of Pakistan were facing humiliation in the world because of their rulers.

Addressing a public gathering in Multan on Friday, the former prime minister said that fear of losing a job and humiliation “makes a big man into a small one”, adding that they [the government] were slaves of America.

He said that no one turned into a big businessman till he feared losses, no soldier has gotten medals in fear of death.

The former prime minister said that this was the reason that the conspiracy was carried out to oust him from office. He added that the conspiracy was done by those who “looted” the country for 30 years.

He said that Pervez Musharaf forgave them. “If I would have forgiven their cases then this would mean that I did not come to power based on an ideology or to run a movement for justice.”

“When former dictator Musharraf put Nawaz Sharif in jail then Asif Zardari said that Nawaz finished the tissues by wiping off his tears,” the PTI chairman said.

Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif went abroad by lying and pretending that he was very sick. “We were told that he may not even be able to sit on the plane. Shirin Mazari started crying in the cabinet to let him go for God’s sake,” Imran Khan said.

Taking a jibe at PM Shehbaz Sharif, Imran Khan said that Shahbaz Sharif had given a guarantee in the Lahore High Court that Nawaz Sharif would return. “He [PM Shehbaz] should be punished for submitting a false affidavit.”

The PTI chairman said that he would announce the date for Islamabad march on Sunday, May 22, which he said would be decided in the PTI’s core committee meeting that would be held in Peshawar.

Imran Khan, who has been addressing a series of huge public gatherings across the country, had given the deadline of May 20 for the announcement of the long march date during his Multan rally.

He asked the people to join the march, which he claimed would be the largest in the history of South Asia.
