Cooper Noriega, a TikTok star, died late last Thursday, according to law enforcement sources. He was 19.
The social media sensation was discovered unconscious in a mall parking lot south of Los Angeles. A passerby discovered him and contacted 911. The Instagram model was not in a car, his body showed no indications of violence, and foul play is not believed at this time.
Noriega died one day after posting a strange video in bed with the caption, “who else be thinking they gon die young af?”
The social media star didn’t explain why he thought he’ll die young. Noriega also revealed that he had recently ended his two-year relationship with Sabrina Quesada, a fellow TikToker.
On the video-sharing app TikTok, the young user had over 1.7 million followers. His death is being investigated since the cause of his death is unknown.
The model has previously opened up to his fans about his struggles with mental illness and drug addiction.
On Sunday, June 5, he announced the opening of a Discord channel where he and his fans could share their experiences and open up about their mental health struggles.
“If you’re really into getting your emotions out, or whatever, come join,” he added in a video broadcast to his TikTok account. “I created [the server] because of how much I love you guys and how much I struggle with it myself.”
“Hi everyone. on behalf of our family, we want to thank you all for the kind words of our little coop. his passing is an absolute tragedy to our family and loved ones,” his sister wrote on Instagram.
