Five people, including three children, were killed and one child was injured when walls collapsed due to rain in different parts of Karachi.

A young man of 22 was also electrocuted to death in a factory in the Site area.

Even though the first pre-monsoon rain did not last for more than half an hour, drains overflowed in many areas and water accumulated on various roads including MA Jinnah Road.

Five people including three children lost their lives when the walls of houses fell in different areas, including Malir, Memon Goth, Mahmoodabad, Chanesar Goth, Millat Town and Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

In Malir Millat Town, two children were killed when a wall collapsed. In Chanesar Goth, an eight-year-old and a 45-year-old man were killed. Some areas also suffered from power outages.

K-Electric said that efforts to restore power are in full swing and that power is being supplied through 1,720 feeders, while their staff is constantly reviewing the situation.
