Four die of drowning in Karachi’s Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park

At least four people drowned in the creek near Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park on Boat Basin in Clifton, ​​Karachi.

Two people drowned while swimming in the creek at around 5pm on June 22. Five more people jumped in to try and save them but to no avail.

Edhi’s rescue services were called to the scene, and their divers were able to rescue three people, who were unconscious.

They retrieved four bodies, of 17-year-old Saif Ullah, 35-year-old Allah Dad, Mohammad Riaz and 18-year-old Hammad Khan.

The rescue operation had to be cut short during the night and was restarted in the morning.
