Punjab Assembly passes no-confidence motion against Dost Mazari

The new speaker of the provincial assembly will be elected on Friday

Punjab Assembly approved a no-confidence motion against Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari by majority votes.

PTI leader Raja Basharat has submitted the no-confidence motion against the deputy speaker in the Punjab Assembly.

The new speaker of the provincial assembly will be elected on Friday at 4:00 p.m for which the nomination papers can be submitted till 5:00 p.m today (Thursday) while the scrutiny of the documents will take place at 5:10 p.m.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the Punjab government and its ally parties decided to move a no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari.

PTI has nominated Sibtain Khan from Mianwali for Speaker and Wasiq Qayyum from Rawalpindi for the Deputy Speaker slot
